- as a Certified Safety Coach, you can help bring more focus on safety at work
Companies increasingly focus and demand high standards on safety. As such, great demand are also made on managers, HSE consultants and safety coaches to create motivation for the safe operation of work and a readiness for change among employees.
As a Certified Safety Coach you learn to optimize your ability to generate reflection and collaboration around safety and to develop your own and others’ full potential for creating a workplace where no one will be injured even if the industry
involves high risk.
The course develops your psychological understanding and you will learn about the adult human psychology. You will improve your skills in terms of acknowledgement, involvement and questioning in order to help the people that you coach. You will learn how to create more pleasure at work, motivation and strengthen the ability to self-management at an individual level as well as in teams and thus help create a strong culture of security at work.
The course is relevant to those who work with and are responsible for building a strong safety culture, i.e. managers, HSE consultants or Safety Coaches.
The course is divided into 3 modules, focusing on basic coaching tools, coaching of individuals as well as coaching of groups and teams.
Gain insight into the basic coaching tools and methods, the cornerstones of any coaching practice. All examples and cases used are security related.

As a safety coach it is essential that you have an understanding of each individual's needs and operating conditions - that you are able to see the individual in its own right. In this module participants work with and implement a
personality test that identifies the preferences, values and choices of the individual. Participants will also be trained in coaching in the role of security manager.

In this last module we turn our attention to the organization. Efforts to understand team dynamics and the techniques behind team coaching and how to create execution in the team through synergy, job satisfaction and team self-management to contribute to a strong safety culture.

All participants must pass the following to obtain a certificate:
In order to coach others, it is very important to know oneself and the way you percieve others. As such, all participants will do a personality test. Participants will receive personal feedback on the test.
The subsequent training runs over three learning modules, each of two days with three subsequent training sessions. To really achive a deep understanding of the training, participants must, as a minimum, conduct two training sessions between the seminars. Subsequently, these sessions will be reflected in a schedule, whichhelps participants to focus
attention on the important parameters.
Furthermore, participants complete a written assignment, in which you relate a theoretical model to her-/himself and the company in question. In addition, we will read relevant articles, books or excerpts of books by national and international authors. The course ends with an exam and certification. External examiners and teachers will be practicing coaches.
All training, teaching, testing, feedback, coaching and guidance is handled by experienced consultants from Kjerulf & Partners, who are all certified and practicing coaches with management experience.
